David Leonard & Roselyn Lionheart history dates back more than five decades.
In 1959, David and Roselyn met when they were members of an Air Force
ensemble that toured and performed at bases around the country. Despite
tense racial climate and rampant bigotry prevalent at time, six months after
their meeting, the interracial couple married.
"I started playing piano when I was four, and I still can't play the piano," jokes
Roselyn Lionheart. "We came to New Orleans primarily for the music." Make
no mistake, the woman is musically talented. Roselyn Lionheart and husband
David Leonard have been performing music in the streets for over fifty years,
forty of them in New Orleans. While they are regulars at festivals
NOLa's Jazz Fest, fairs, festivals and gigs, they continue to spend time every
week on New
Orlean's famous Royal Street. They are part of the community
of artists and
musicians that make New Orleans a special place to live and visit.
UNPARALLED AND UNFORGETTABLE MUSIC MAGIC!!
Old enough to know better but too young to resist.
